Reigning Grace Counseling Center exists for the purpose of counseling and restoring Christians, evangelizing the lost, and training both individuals and churches in the practice of Biblical Counseling.
We offer an opportunity for those who struggle with sinful and addictive behaviors to find help, healing and hope in Jesus Christ. We minister to those who may or may not recognize that the solution to their problems is in the power of Jesus Christ.
About Our Services
We are dedicated to promoting the sufficiency of the Scriptures, and the ministry of the Holy Spirit as enough for solving the problems of life. Rather than using man’s methods and worldly wisdom, we believe that changes in the thoughts, beliefs and desires of the heart is what brings about changes in ones life.
What this means is that we are not a licensed counseling agency, nor are we psychologically or medically trained therapists. We offer pastoral counseling intended to bring life change through heart change.
History of Reigning Grace Counseling Center
Julie Ganschow was saved by Christ in her early 20's and used her life experience to counsel women within her local church. She found God had equipped her with specific life experiences and spiritual gifts that allowed her to connect with others and speak truth into womens' lives. She attended several different Wisconsin churches throughout her adulthood and served in Women's Ministries and within Biblical Counseling services as God worked to equip and refine her.
Julie was invited to work part time in a counseling position that later grew to founding Reigning Grace Counseling Ministries with Bruce Roeder in West Allis, Wisconsin. Originally created to fulfill a need in the community, it quickly grew to become the premiere counseling center in the Northern Great Lakes Region. The focus of the Biblical counseling model was shifting away from the behaviorist model that had dominated counseling at the time and towards the heart model, originally developed by Debbie Pryde, and grace-based counseling. During her time with Reigning Grace Counseling Ministries, Julie developed her first workbook and published book, The Process of Biblical Change.
In 2009, Julie's husband was offered a position in Kansas City, Missouri, and Julie began the process of transferring the Reigning Grace Counseling Ministry to their new home church, Faith Community Church. Renamed Reigning Grace Counseling Center, it has continued to grow in its impact as Julie has continued to grow as a force in the Biblical Counseling community.
